In 1988 a friend of mine, Michael Podhurcak, rang one morning asking if I was ready to quit my front office position at the AV company., and go out with Southern Pacific. I responded with "when do I leave?". They already had a ticket for me for first thing the next morning.
Southern Pacific was one of the first bands to be comprised of rock musicians, playing "country style" music, based out of Nashville. Made up of John Mcfee and Keith Knudsen, of Doobie Brothers fame, Stu Cook, bass player formerly of Credence Clearwater Revival, and Kurt Howell, keyboardist of Giant.
John Mcfee had been the musical director for Yazawa and asked if I would like to be one of the guitar techs for the Japan tours. From 1989 until 1992 we continued on with the Japanese tours, working several different players.

Nobu was truly one of the most dedicated roadies I have ever had the pleasure to work with. We became the best of friends touring Japan together. Nobu knew very little English, even so, we still hung together and played hard in the good ole days!
